Systems Software Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

  • Software systems development:
    • Design and develop software systems for deployment, maintenance, security, and management of robot fleets.
    • Design and develop manufacturing software systems, including collection, storage, and visualization of manufacturing data.
    • Design and develop robot telemetry systems, including data warehousing and remote monitoring of robots.
    • Work with internal and external customers to support robot management workflows.
    • Work with designers and end-users to create aesthetically appealing user experiences.
    • Advise company management about product deployment and support.
  • Process management and continuous improvement:
    • Support team goals and co-workers.
    • Refine software development tools, systems, and processes.
    • Practice modular design for re-use efficiency.
    • Document and automate.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirements:
    • Strong command of C++.
    • Experience managing software deployment and field upgrades to customers.
    • Experience with software development on Linux.
    • 4-year technical degree or equivalent experience/education.
    • 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Preference for:
    • Experience with IoT fleet software management.
    • Experience with data collection and flow in manufacturing systems.
    • Familiarity with cloud computing and data storage.
    • Understanding of IT infrastructure, including wifi/cellular routers and VPNs.
    • Understanding of IoT principles, including MQTT, RabbitMQ, time series database.
    • Understanding of good cybersecurity practices.
  • Preference for:
    • Experience with automation, robotics and/or sensors, ability to read schematics
    • Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) middleware
    • Experience with Javascript and/or other web programming languages
    • Experience with cloud-based and/or distributed data processing systems
    • Understanding of IoT, embedded and/or cloud security concepts
Robotics Engineering Intern

Internship Scope:

  • Spring 2022 semester
  • At least 20 hours per week
  • Work within a leading-edge robotics company – develop and deploy robotic automation

Job Responsibilities Tasks:

  • Initial training as needed (e.g. UR Academy, Husky ROS tutorial)
  • Automation Programming & Software Development (e.g. ROS/Linux & C/C++)
  • System Integration (e.g. hardware integration, testing & validation)
  • Engineering (e.g. Solution development & integration, testing & validation, light assembly)

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with software programming required
  • Demonstrated technical problem-solving skills required
  • Pursuing or completed a technical degree required
  • Experience with embedded software & Linux desired
  • Experience with high-technology and robotics desired
  • Experience with CAD, machine tools, and 3D printers is a bonus
Robot Technician – Field Service

Job Responsibilities:

  • Automation & robotic system deployment, testing, troubleshooting & repair
  • Deployment and field service of automation solutions at customer sites
  • Technical support, training and documentation
  • Caring and responsive towards customers and coworkers
  • Use knowledge of materials, parts, fabrication & assembly methods, quality & safety standards, to identify & implement changes to improve product designs, streamline manufacturing processes and reduce costs
  • Oversee safety assessments and design modifications for product safety and regulatory compliance
  • Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in technical field service and/or support
  • Experience with pre-sales & post-sales technical support
  • Good interpersonal skills for customer-facing role
  • Strong technical background and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with automation, robotics and sensors
  • Experienced with hands-on system integration and assembly work
  • Ability to travel, perform physical activity, and work non-standard hours

Mechanical Designer

Description & Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for automation & robotic system using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software
  • Develop and analyze three-dimensional models using computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Develop fabrication & assembly procedures using CNC machine tools, 3D printers, etc.
  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and manufacturing procedures

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements:

  • 5+ years drafting experience in computer-aided drafting and modeling
  • Strong experience with Mechanical 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Fusion360
  • Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, drawings, and models
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology

Preference for:

  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
  • Experience with automation, robotics and sensors
