Victory Innovations & Clorox Electrostatic Sprayers Discontinued

Written by Tyanne Hawthorne | Jul 3, 2023 2:45:00 PM

In the past few weeks, it has been announced that Victory Innovations Electrostatic Sprayers and Clorox® Total 360® Electrostatic Sprayers are being discontinued. This method of disinfecting grew popular in the past few years, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic, because of its effectiveness. However, electrostatic sprayers are not the perfect solution, as we are beginning to see.

In electrostatic sprayers, disinfectant particles are given an electric charge, enabling them to be propelled directly onto surfaces. The positively charged particles, much like magnets, repel one another and disperse evenly across the sprayed area. This method is effective because the charged particles can conform to curved surfaces and effectively reach difficult-to-clean spots that are often overlooked. In addition to this effectiveness, many facilities turned to electrostatic sprayers because they are easy to use. It is quick to spray a room, taking maybe five minutes for the average classroom to get full coverage.

However, now, Victory Innovations is ending its business and ceasing operations. Clorox®, a household name brand, is not closing its business but is discontinuing their electrostatic sprayer product, the Clorox® Total 360® System. The exact reasons are not known, but it could be a combination of factors, such as lower demand over time, costly replacements for broken equipment, or customers finding different solutions to their problem. In February of 2021, Victory electrostatic sprayers were recalled due to fire and explosion hazards, which may have contributed to this outcome.

Electrostatic sprayers are relatively easy to use, but the spraying and wiping are repetitive motions that can take up time, especially in large facilities.

One alternative to electrostatic sprayers is Breezy Blue, the disinfecting minibot. Breezy Blue is even easier to use, disinfecting a room with the push of a button as opposed to spraying and wiping with Victory and Clorox’s products. Breezy Blue is a disinfectant fogger, and it only needs about 30 seconds of fogging to fully disinfect an average-sized classroom. With the scheduling function, it can automatically go off every night without any labor needed.

If you’re looking for a replacement for your electrostatic sprayers, or a new way to disinfect, consider Breezy Blue smart foggers.
